MSNBC - M&M's characters go to the 'dark side'

As if the candies are not enough, consumers can collect 72 Star
Wars/M&M's-themed packages in plain and peanut varieties that
feature exclusive under-the-wrapper Star Wars and M&M's trivia.

Apparently, the Catholic Church figured the best way to avoid the ethical problems with embryonic stem cells was to fund research of other stem cells... whatever works!!!

Just can't win

Well, that spot that was leaking is leaking again. I thought for sure that filling in the hole that went all the way though the wall would do it, but I guess not! Due to my schedule, there is no way I can get anyone back in here until at least the middle of April. How irritating!!!

Happy Easter!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! I went to a friends house where we all gathered for our annual Easter fondue! I know it's a bit of a different tradition, but it has worked well for us for quite a few years now.
I would still like someone to explain to me how Easter ended up in March this year!! Anyone? Anyone?

Now I've heard it all!

MSNBC - Italian wins in court after husband's 'sex strike'

Uh huh... Women have been with holding sex from men since the beginning of time, using it as a weapon to get what they want. Now, a man has with held sex from his wife for 7 years for taking sides against him in a family dispute over money. Then, when she couldn't take it anymore and divorced him, he appealed the support payments that the Italian courts ordered. But the courts ruled against him saying "The refusal of affection or sexual attention must constitute the blame for the separation"
In my opinion, the marriage ended because the guy must have been having an affair. It doesn't say that anywhere in the article, but no man in his right mind is going to go without sex for 7 years just to make a point!

Blogs are time consuming

Ok, I HAD been pretty good about keeping the blog up to date until lately. I've definitely been slipping but keeping up with the family is more important some times. However, after reading this post from Robert Scoble about how he spends 3 - 6 hours PER DAY on just ONE of his blogs, I'm feeling guilty about not finding 10 minutes here and there to post!!

Are bloggers just conformists?

According to John Dvorak, apparently bloggers are just Conformists in the High Tech era. He also states that the blogging community is relatively small and many high tech people just aren't interested. What do you think?

Getting better...

Well, they have taken Larry off both the pump and the ventilator now. He is awake and talking. It's hard to hear him right now because his throat is still irritated from have the ventilator tube down there. All in all, things are looking pretty good though!!

NASCAR

Well, it's a good year for Mark Martin. He just won another Busch race. As we saw a couple of weeks ago, that doesn't necessarily translate into a Nextel Cup win, but it did at least turn into a top 10. Let's hope he can at least strike another top 10 at Vegas this week!

I Should've known

As I was heading out the door this morning, my sister called. Apparently NH is supposed to get up to 10 inches of snow and Maine is supposed to get up to TWO FEET of snow tonight and tomorrow. So now I've cancelled my flight and my rental car and I'm taking a wait and see what happens approach. There isn't much else I can do right now I guess...

Can't life EVER be easy??

My step-father, Larry, had a massive heart attack today. My Mom called me from the hospital. I've started the plans to go to Maine, but it's going to take a couple of days to get there. It looks like I'll be flying in to NH tomorrow night (I have a Doctors appointment tomorrow afternoon that Mom said I needed to go to BEFORE flying up) and then my sister and I are going to drive up first thing Saturday morning I guess. Of course, with me just getting over the flu, I'm not sure if they'll even let me in to see Larry. Maybe by Saturday morning I'll be completely healthy. Either way, I'll be there for Mom.

I'm not sure if this should be titled "Where there's a will there's a way" or "someone has too much time on their hands", but a researcher at the University of California has developed a technique for tracking PCs that are behind firewalls using clock skews. Check it out at Connected Home or Engadget.

Water leaks

I think the water leak around the rear sliding glass door is FINALLY going to be fixed. It's only been leaking for a little over 2 years. It's been "fixed" 3 times. This time, they tore the drywall down and found a big whole in the concrete. They patched the hole and then coated the whole are with drylok (a concrete water proofer). Let's hope that this is the one that does it!

hmmm

Well, I've been a little remiss in writing here lately. My room mates car broke and we've been out car shopping the last few nights. She finally settled on a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix. Now, I have a cold. I'm not sure if it's because I was walking around frigid car lots for a few nights or because one of my co-workers was in and not feeling well. Either way, I HATE being sick!! Once I get a cough, it takes me FOREVER to get rid of it.

A couple of british students are setting out to set the record for breaking the most laws. They are using old, generally unenforced laws. They are starting with riding a bicycle in a swimming pool in California. Then, they are going whale hunting in Utah (a land locked state). This could be interesting (and funny)!
