Well, I made it to San Diego ok. Things with the hotel haven't been great so far, but I'm hoping that will smooth out once things get rolling.

Well, as most of you already know, I'm home again. I got home yesterday and would have posted this then, but my internet connection died. I have now replaced the cable modem and spent countless hours on the phone with Comcast and it's FINALLY back!! Of course, I'm just leaving again on Friday but who wants to go 3 days without internet access?? I know I don't!
Well, My Grandfathers funeral went very well today. I saw a lot of people I haven't seen in many years. It was nice to see them and to catch up. Why is it that we only seem to get together when someone dies??? I want to have everyone get together for a joyous occasion for once!
I held it together very well today...that is, until they played taps and presented the flag to my Grandmother. That just did me in.
Well, I have arrived safely in New Hampshire. I flew up today for my Grandfathers funeral. Work was nice enough to give me three days of emergency leave so I didn't have to use up any of my vacation or sick time. I should be home again on Monday. Of course, then I'm just leavinging again on Friday for San Diego. Lately, it seems that I'm always on the go......
I just received the phone call I had hoped would not come. My Grandfather passed away today. Rest in Peace Gramp. The fight is over. I Love You and I'll Miss You!
Well, I'm home. My Grandfather is still in ICU with very little change. Only time will tell what is going to happen. Overall, the trip went well. I spent quite a bit of time sitting in the hospital but I also got to see Peg (my Grandfathers daughter) who I haven't seen since I was a little kid. I also got a chance to visit with Marianne, a friend I haven't seen in years, and to meet her daughter.
My Sunday pretty much sucked. I got up and showered and went to put my luggage in the car. Roxy (my sisters dog) jumped up on me and got mud all over me. I went in and cleaned that off with no problem. I got to the airport to turn in the rental car and they mixed me up with someone with a bill 3 times what mine was. I got that corrected. I went through the fun of checking in while being on the watch list and the counter agent forgot to give me a boarding pass. I noticed it before walking away and got the boarding pass issued. Then I went upstairs and decided to get some breakfast. So I ordered the hotcakes and sausage from McDonalds. I sat down and opened the maple syrup. It shot all over the place. It went on the table and all over my pants. I cleaned those up and noticed it on the floor. When I looked closer I found it was on my laptop bag. I cleaned that off and finished eating. I went into the bathroom and cleaned as much up as I could. Then I went through security. When I grabbed my shoes to put them back on I found that they had syrup on them too. So now my hands were all sticky again. I made ANOTHER trip to the bathroom to clean my shoes off and wash my hands again. About the only good thing that happened was when I was leaving BWI. A bus from the Red lot came through and picked me up even though I was parked in the blue lot. I thanked him for saving me the wait for the blue lot bus and tipped him well. Now, I'm home watching the race...Go Mark! :)
I'm off to New Hampshire. My Grandfather is not doing well. He is in ICU and seems to be getting worse instead of better. So I'm heading home to visit with him. Man this has been a rough year for my family....
