Did Ben Franklin predict what would be happening in 21st century America? Probably not. But this quote describes what we are doing today with things like the Patriot Act. I've heard so many people saying that they don't care if the Government takes away their privacy rights as long as they stop the terrorists. Of course, in my opinion, what that really means is that the terrorists have already won.
