I got the bill for my ER trip back in December. I think they were trying to give me a heart attack so I would come back again! MY portion, after insurance, is almost $600. The total bill was over $2000. That's absolutely insane! I told Marianne that the next time I'm having chest pain, I'd rather just keel over and die than pay that again!
Hah! I have to agree. I went a while back and ended up needing to pay $200 to the ER and $200 to the Doctor on call who spent a total of probably 10 minutes talking to me! This is after insurance! It's nuts! I was gonna go last night b/c my temperature was at 104 but I honestly felt like I'd rather risk it than pay another flipping $400 to get care I might not even need. It's pretty sad, actually, but all you can do is laugh and try to change things...
